Stakeholder Seminar Planning with Dr. Mohammad Mostafa

Planning a multi-stakeholder seminar linking agriculture, investor, and regulator participation for irradiation adoption.

The Cordinato team recently held a strategic meeting with Dr. Mohammad Mostafa, Member (Public Health & Nutrition) and Chief Scientific Officer (CSO), to discuss the organization of a multi-stakeholder seminar focused on the commercialization of irradiation technology in Bangladesh.

The discussion emphasized the importance of bringing together key stakeholders from government, industry, agriculture, research, and development sectors to explore the future potential of irradiation technology and its applications across multiple industries.

The proposed seminar aims to involve representatives from:

  • Ministry of Agriculture
  • Ministry of Science & Technology
  • Hortex Foundation
  • Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC)
  • Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)
  • Plant Quarantine Authorities
  • Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE)
  • Investors and industry stakeholders

Key areas of focus will include:

  • Food safety and export enhancement
  • Reduction of post-harvest losses
  • Agricultural product preservation
  • Medical and industrial sterilization applications
  • Investment and commercialization opportunities

During the meeting, both parties highlighted the need for stronger coordination among policymakers, researchers, investors, and agricultural institutions to accelerate the adoption of irradiation technology as a strategic industrial and economic solution for Bangladesh.

The initiative reflects Cordinato’s ongoing effort to build collaborative platforms that connect science, industry, and policy to support innovation-driven development and commercialization in the country.
